KHS SixFifty606

I had a blurb weeks ago about this bike when a KHS Rider had a prototype. Well, KHS has given the thumbs up for production. The 606 will feature a hydroformed aluminum frame, an X-Fusion Velvet fork, Nevegal 2.1" tires and a Shimano SLX rear deraileur, just to name some of the myriad of components on this geared hardtail. This is the first production aluminum mtb hardtail 650B frame.
I spoke with a few KHS folks at last year's Interbike and they were very open to the 650B format and even had a Tuscon setup with 650B wheels. I'd love to see a steel Solo-One in the future. They can call it the BSolo.

I'd like to see a few more 650b SS, but I can't support the market 'cause I already have one.

I'm still waiting for the day that I see another 650b on the trail though, and maybe the production bikes offered can make that happen.

I'm actually a bit worried that the geometry will be just right for me, as that would mean I'll probably end up purchasing one of the ugliest paint/graphic designs I've seen on a bike.

I wonder where KHS got the idea that riders would want to emblazon their wheel size all over their frame?

I hope that KHS makes the frame available. It should make for a good racing 650b HT.

+1 for that. I'd get one!
As for the graphics, I'm not too hip on them either, but a it all rides the same, regardless of color.

The first build of the KHS 650B bike is up on the blogspot: www.bryanvanvleet.blogspot.com

I'm changing out the frok for a Reba that locksout have race wheels/tires on the way. For socal racing, I'm thinking the best match for tires right now is the Racing Ralph(Schwalbe) in the front and the Pacenti Quasi Moto back. I'll update my blog as things progress; sorry it's been a slow process.

Holy crap this bike is amazing!! It came in Wed and I am amazed at how well it performs. It's also incredibly light. You need to check this bike out if you can. It took me a while to find a bike shop in Dallas that would order me one, but I finally did. I was about to give up, but sooooo glad I didn't. I love this bike.

I bought a 606 with the plans on building it up as a light race bike. The bike looks great, but the frame and bike are on the heavy side. A 19-inch bike is about 29 pounds out the door, and when stripped of it's part it's close to 2000 grams. Not nearly as light as I'd expected. I'm glad that KHS has entered the market, and I hope that they can find a way to lighten the frame in the future.
